Meet Dr. Hossein Ansari

Dr. Hossein Ansari is a board-certified neurologist by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). He also completed a fellowship in headache and facial pain at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN and received board certification on headache medicine from the United Council of Neurological Subspecialty (UCNS).

After developing a multidisciplinary headache clinic at Neurology and Neuroscience Associates (NNA), where he serves as Medical Director of the Headache Clinic, he moved to San Diego in June 2015. There, he started the Headache and Facial Pain Clinic for the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) where he serves as Director of the Headache Clinic. He advanced to Associate Professor of Neuroscience at UCSD and currently continues his teaching there.

In July 2020, Dr. Ansari joined Kaizen Brain Center to develop a Headache Clinic and Facial Pain Clinic and expand the Concussion and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) clinics.

Dr. Ansari is actively involved in multiple domestic and international professional societies, specifically the International Headache Society (IHS), and presented in numerous national and international conferences.

Dr. Ansari is consultant and advisor for multiple pharmaceutical companies working to develop treatment for facial pain or headaches.

His specialties and interests include interventional and procedural treatment of headaches with a focus on migraines; and facial pain with a focus on autoimmune trigeminal neuropathy, trigeminal neuralgia, neuro-rheumatology, and neuro-pharmacology.
