My daughter had migraine surgery performed by Dr. Guyuron in 2008, when she was nearly 18 ears old. Why have I waited so long to write a review? At first I wanted to be sure her results were going to last and then life happened and i never got it done. Let me tell you, it was, I believe, lifesaving. My daughter had unrelenting migraines for over a year. She never got total relief during that time. She could not attend school her senior year, missed her prom and so much more. We had tried EVERYTHING. It was so bad she was beginning to make scary comments like, "if this is going to be the way my life is from now on I'd just as soon not live it". She was actually the one who found Dr. G online and after much consideration we decided to try his migraine surgery. He did a multifocal surgery, which was ROUGH on her, but it gave her her life back. She may have had a migraine or two since but other than that they are GONE. She still has occasional headaches, as most people do, but not migraines. Dr. G is so knowledgeable, his staff so professional and kind, we would do it again in a heartbeat! Thank you, Dr. Guyuron, for saving my sweet daughter's life!!!
I have suffered with migraine headaches since I was four years old. These migraines worsened and started coming almost everyday once I started college. It was almost unbearable to be a full time student and working two jobs while I was suffering like that. I started going to neurologists and having many tests done. I was finally referred to Dr. Totonchi by my neurologist after a long process of trying different medications in different dosages (six different types of medications). I did not respond to any of the medications and we got to a point where I could either try herbal supplements or go in for Botox injections every three months for the rest of my life. I am only 20 so I wanted a permanent solution that would not require me to take daily medication. Migraine surgery was the answer!!!! I had my surgery done on May 12th, 2015 and I have not has a migraine since! I am beginning to get a taste of what it is to live a normal life again. Just one week after the surgery I was back to work and seeing the results. I cannot thank Dr. Totonchi enough for giving me back my life and my future!
I've had chronic migraines most of my life. For the past 7 years I was in constant pain. Dr. Totonchi preformed 2 surgeries and I am currently pain free. My only regret is not finding him sooner. I actually have a life again! Best decision of my life!
Dr. Ansari is simply the best. After almost two years of suffering from horrible burning headache caused by incorrect treatment at another well-known headache clinic in San Diego, he saved me from being disabled due to my horrific headaches. After so many appointments, spending so much time, listening to my concerns, adjusting medications trying different methods of treatment and simply making me feel I have personalize treatment plan. It did take it's time, but for the first time I was treated correctly for my headache. I was a very complicated case. I really owe my quality life to Dr. Ansari. Don't know how to thank him. This is just my way of telling others how wonderful he is. I hope others find this review helpful. Headaches are not easy to treat. Let's just hope we are not becoming the victim of doctors who just use us to sell their Botox business they way I was treated before I saw Dr. Ansari.
This review is written after two visits with Dr. Ansari, UCSD Health's lead specialist for headaches. How very impressive this physician is! He's extremely knowledgeable, thorough, proactive, kind (exquisite manners), patient, and professional. I transferred in as a new patient and he put everything in place for me to have Botox injections on my second visit. It was obvious by his technique that he knew exactly what he was doing and took time and care with selecting the placement of each injection (following the national standard protocol for migraines as well). He also made sure all prescriptions were refilled and arranged a 6-week follow-up to evaluate the effectiveness of the injections (typical appointments are every 12 weeks). I've been a nurse for 45 years, am not easily impressed, and know a great doctor when I see one. Based on my two visits with Dr. Ansari, I can recommend him with full confidence for migraine care.
Dr Guyuron is such a good listener. He understood me when I said I was in pain and took an interest in locating the exact source of the pain. Then he made a plan for the surgical treatment that would relieve my migraine pain from which I had suffered for over 30 years. My migraines have been completely gone now for 10 months and he was also able to do a followup surgery to treat remaining facial pain. It was so reassuring to find a doctor who listened, cared and wanted to take my pain away. His office staff treats patients with consideration and respect. Dr. Guyuron's approach is specific and well researched and he desires his patients to resume a full life free from pain.
